Omschrijving

Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or total project of major magnitude and scope.
• Studies the operation of systems, selects major components to meet functional and operational requirements and determines the optimum location and arrangement from an engineering, manufacturing and/or service standpoint.
• Performs original highly complex analysis and design work of systems (specifically High Voltage systems operating at a rate greater than 100kV) and component parts in accordance with specifications. Reviews and evaluates designs executed by others to satisfy product/program requirements.
• Performs work, which involves a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
• Supervises test programs, including preparation of test specifications from prototype equipment resulting from engineering analysis or design.
• Assumes greater responsibility in coordinating, preparing, writing, costing and following through to completion technical bid and proposal efforts with little or no direct supervision.
• Performs various administrative and supervisory functions including budget responsibility, scheduling, conferences, and preparation of proposal and bids.
• Leads, coordinates and reviews the work of a small staff of engineers and technicians; estimates personnel needs and schedules and assigns work to meet scheduled completion dates.
 

Vaardigheideisen

Bsc in Electrical Engineering.

5 - 10 years experience in the analysis, evaluation, design and development of equipment or systems.

Strong knowledge of the design and testing of High Voltage Electronics operating at more than 100 kV and related test equipment and components is a must.

Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents in specialty area and a good working knowledge of principles and practice of related specialties.

Excellent analytical as well as supervisory skills required.

Excellent verbal, written (English, German) and interpersonal communication skills are required for effective interface with all internal and external contacts. Good familiarity with PC hardware is a must.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills: EE design experience, System design and integration. The ideal candidate will have a few of the following skills as well: X-Ray experience, Wiring diagrams, power distribution, interlocks, prototype build.
